Booking a last minute flight to LA to surprise your BFF for her birthday? DUH. I’ve been MIA for a hot second (I know two weeks bitches) BUT I get to share SO MUCH EXCITING STUFF WITH YOU ALL. The first is #Hefindschic LA! Clearly we had the best time braiding each other’s hair, talking about boys, and, wait we are 28, I mean MEETING boys, drinking alcohol, and cruising on the freeway like Cher & Deon. (if you don’t get that reference…umm #idk what to say). WATCH CLUELESS IMMEDIATELY MABYE??

My uber cool, chic, fabulous, gorgeous, SoulCycle instructor (you HAVE to take her class if you’re in the LA area, I’m still #dead), fitness model, actress, singer, SHE JUST WINS AT LIFE OK, BFF Lindsey Simcik moved to LA about a year ago leaving our NYC life together (I cried everyday for the 28 days leading up to her departure my eyes hated me and they’re my best feature #loss) lives in the #chillest part of Venice Beach. I got to explore Venice, Santa Monica, and Newport Beach and all the effortlessly #chic lifestyle it has to offer. FIRST VENICE!

Looking to start the weekend off right with some cheap drinks, cool atmosphere and yummy bites? These are my top 5 happy hour places to get your #thirstythursday drank on. Atmosphere and Food are key players for this #chichappyhour.

  1. Balzem-Uber #chic mediterranean & tapas bar/restaurant in Nolita. HH $6 wines, $5 beers, $5 tapas, 5-7pm, 7 days a week.
  2. Tendegrees Bistro AND 10degreess Bar– #Coolchic atmosphere and incredible HH deal of 2-4-1 at BOTH locations! Tendegrees Bistro also offers all you can eat mussels and fries for $19.50
  3. Gardenia NYC– #Airychic atmosphere, delicious food, and Margs, Sangria, Beers all 7 and under.
  4. CoopersNYC EV & Chelsea– I stumbled upon this little food bar gem in the EV one day exploring and was extremely surprised at how delicious and affordable it was! HH M-F 4-7 with $5 beers and $6 mixed drinks, plus daily food specials. The shaved kale salad and tater tots are beyond!
  5. Crave Fishbar – Best $1 Oyster HH I’ve had in the city. Everyday from 5-7. Cocktail- The Black Smoke Monster.
  6. Tolache– Locations on the UES, Midtown, & Soho. The best Mexican and Cocktails I’ve had to date in the city. The sampler of 3 guac and chips, A MUST. Cocktail- De La Calle. *Not so much a “happy hour” deal, but by far a MUST for after work cocktails!

#helistenschic | KYEKYE

You know when you randomly find a song that totally gets your emotions gearing and going? Suddenly you’re like, “repeat, #PLEASE.” Then you realize that you should probably just listen to other songs by that same artist. Well that’s exactly what happened to me when I discovered KYE KYE.

The Estonian-born group consists of siblings Alex, Olga & Timothy Yagolnikov who hail from Portland, Oregon. Olga, the lead singer, is married to Thomas Phelan who rounds up the group.   Moody vocals, electronica sounds and catchy empathetic lyrics are what sets them apart and puts them at the forefront of the Indietronica scene.

The group released their first independent album titled Young Love back in 2011 which featured moody hooks and folk-electronica beats. After gaining some recognition for their music, the group started a kickstarter account and grossed over $40K to come out with their sophomore album, Fantasize, in 2014 released under Valga Records.

In my opinion, Fantasize is what put this group on the map. Not only is Olga’s voice hypnotizing, but the lyrics combined with the electronic sound of guitar and keyboards is enticing. Like poetry, the lyrics suck you in to another world of moody lust and love. Whether it’s relationship issues, daily life struggles or trapped feelings, we all need an escape and you can’t help but feel every ounce of Olga through her masterful interpretations of the songs. When an artist connects to their work so much, you’re connected, too. Did I mention that these songs also provide the perfect soundtrack for your adventures in the city? The pauses and breakdowns are all you need while you’re running to catch the next subway, taxi, bus, black car, limo, etc. Top songs on repeat are #seasons|2am #her #hidingplace #people #honestaffection and #honestaffection|remixb

#Paresianchic

Parisian architecture and design has always made me weak at the knees. After living in Paris for a month, I fell head-over-heels in love. I couldn’t stop staring at everything and everyone around me. I even remember how much my eyes and neck hurt from staring and looking up so much. The detailing in Parisian architecture is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my life. And to think that it’s been there for hundreds and hundreds of years is even more mind-boggling.

I recently came across this beyond #parisianchic apartment designed by Isabelle Stanislas and Leiko Oshima. Every room I see, I can’t help but think of the finale scene of my favorite movie, Cruel Intentions, when Katherine opens the church door to her demise. The dramatics of that scene carry over into the dramatics of the apartment’s aesthetic. I just want to turn on the #hefindschic playlist and drink Veuve while I saunter through the space with my lover by my side (P.S. I’m currently taking applications).

Original restored moldings and gold-gilded mirrors are complemented by modern furnishings from the likes of Rick Owens, Galerie Fortin and Pierre Chareau. The design is executed so meticulously that the observer is sucked into another world and forced to succumb to its beauty and elegance. Everywhere you turn, there is a spot to sit down and take it all in. Then again, when you live a #chic lifestyle, what else is there to do other than lounge in your #chicabode and drink Veuve? Where do I sign up?

If you think that eggs are nothing more than a #basic breakfast food, I’m about to flip it over, fry it up, and serve you some realness. Eggshop has become one of my go-to spots for everything egg-freakin-tastic. From the incredible housemade cocktails to the #chic exterior, Eggshop delights newbies and patrons, alike. Sharing a love for all things #eggs, owners Sarah Schneider and fiance, Demetri Makoulis, joined forces with Chef Nick Korbee to craft a menu that inspires and excites. Don’t make the mistake of thinking this is just a delicious brunch spot. Eggshop is serving up eggs all day long — from breakfast to dinner. My personal favorites are the Avo & Egg, Eggshop BAP & El Camino Grande. Feeling #thirsty? Wash it all down with a Bloody Mary + bacon salt rim. And if you thought eggs were the only thing this #fabjoint has going on, there’s more. The golden bucket is a MUST. Fried chicken, hot honey, fresh herbs, sea salt? Yeah, I know, it’s #outofcontrol. So what is Eggshop’s secret to success? Maybe it’s the cool vibe, or the combination of great food and #kickass people. All I know is that I’m hooked and you will be, too. Would I steer you wrong, #chiccrew?
